Adopted Dog Monday!

Cocoa the lovely senior shep mix has found her forever home. Here is what her new mom had to say:
"Just a quick update on Cocoa: now that she has lost even more weight, she has become hard to keep up with! She RUNS out the door, RUNS to the car, RUNS down the sidewalk."

"Here are some pics of Cocoa from our day on the sledding slopes. I'm so happy she's ours for keeps!" Cocoa looks like she has quite the smile on her face. At least someone is enjoying this already long winter.

Adopted Dog Monday!

Wilma, a sweet black lab, was adopted this weekend. Her new dad works from home so she will have someone to hang out with most of the time. They also live across the street from a dog park -- what a lucky girl!

Cocoa was adopted by her foster dad this weekend. Dave said that it became clear that Cocoa already thought she was home and given all the change that she has gone through recently he couldn't stand the thought of making her go through another adjustment. Congratulations, Cocoa!

Buster has also found a foster-with-intent home. He will pack his bags and move next week. Congratulations, Buster!

Cocoa: Did someone say "walk"?

Cocoa was surrendered to Pet Haven along with her canine "sister", Sammy Jo, when their family was going through some changes and could no longer care for the girls. Cocoa is an 8 year old shepherd/lab mix and her foster reports that she is an easy keeper. Cocoa lives with another dog and several cats in her foster home. She is great with the cats -- she basically ignores them. She also enjoys hanging out with her canine foster sister, but she would be fine as an only dog in her adoptive home too.

Cocoa is very mellow in the house, but she LOVES her walks. If you ask her if she wants to go for a walk, she will jump up and head for the door (definitely a girl who will have her new owners spelling w-a-l-k in no time!). She also loves to visit the dog park where she can run and run and run. In the house she will quickly roll over and graciously accept all of the belly rubs you have to give out. Like her sister, Cocoa requests big fluffy dog beds or a spot on the couch and bed in her forever home (can you tell these girls have been well-loved their entire lives?).
