Adopted Dogs Monday!

Despite a slow economy, our dog adoption program is having some success placing dogs in wonderful new homes.  Here are this week's adoptees:

Hosea makes four.  Chihuahuas in his new home, that is.    He thinks it was worth the wait - he came to Pet Haven in September with Gabby and Harley - to find such a nice Chi-friendly home.

Oskar, now called Quincy, was also adopted this week.  His name had to be changed because his adopter has a three year old grandson called Oscar.   Besides Oscar, there are two other grandchildren around and a ten year old Shih Tzu who answers to Kirby.

Three Amigos

Hosea, Gabby and Harley came to us from Red Lake Rosie's Rescue.  They were suddenly unwanted by their owner.    For some reason, all three of these small cuties have been with us since September.  (Hosea wants me to tell you that is nearly five months.)

The only reason I can think of that they have not been adopted is that  they are seniors -- Hosea and Gabby are ten, Harley is nine. For tiny dogs, this is mere middle age.

The Amigos are doing well in their separate foster homes but each dog would love to be adopted.  C'mon people, you could have many years of a little dog snuggling on your lap!  You can also dress them in cute little sweaters.  They don't eat much.  They can't counter-surf.  They're portable.  What's not to like?

To meet any of The Three Amigos, read their profiles on our Petfinder page. Next, fill out an online application on our website.    You'll get a call back within 24 hours.

Or, you can come and meet them at our all-dog adoption event on Saturday, January 30th at the Richfield Petco store.    It's a little ways off, and things can come up, but as of now I believe all Three Amigos will be in attendance.

Hosea - little guy who loves his stuffed bear!

As small as Hosea is, between 5 and 6 pounds, he’s got the energy of many larger dogs put together. He loves to fetch his small, stuffed teddy bear as many times as you want to throw it. He’s into car rides, short walks, runs in the backyard and really cushy dog beds. All this at 10 years old.
Housetrained, Hosea can go 4-5 hours without telling you it’s time to go out. He hates being kenneled and will put up great protest if confined. He loves to play in the yard only if the weather is perfect. Rain or snow put him off his game, so make sure you walk him on those days, even if it’s just a short stroll.
Being a small guy with not a ton of fur, Hosea likes to burrow under pillows, cushions and blankets to stay toasty warm. Just make sure to be extra careful where you sit. Hosea might be napping out of sight.
