Petland Protest: Shakopee

Join a
peaceful demonstration against the Petland store in Shakopee this Sunday. Help educate consumers about pet stores. Petland stores continue to sell dogs they purchase from puppy mills. An investigation by the Humane Society of the United States shows "that almost every Petland store in the country is buying from puppy mills, either directly from commercial breeding facilities or indirectly through middleman brokers" (Click here for the full story.)

Date: Sunday, September 13, 2009

Time: noon to 1:30 pm

Store: Petland Shakopee

Store location: 8091 Old Carriage Court North in Shakopee, Minnesota 55379.

If you can bring your own sign, please do. Some signs will be available there. For more info and to download signs, visit the
Animal Folks MN website.

"Peaceful protests and rallys are proving to be very effective in raising awareness about animal abuse and creating change. In Minnesota, there have been protests outside pet stores that sell puppy/kitten mill puppies and kittens. Peaceful rallys in support of animal protection legislation as well as court hearings also generate press."
